Acceptable use policy
This acceptable use policy (AUP) governs your use of services provided by MapleDeploy. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
This AUP is referenced by and incorporated into our Terms of Service. It applies to all MapleDeploy customers and to all activity on servers provisioned through our platform.
Prohibited content
You may not use MapleDeploy services to host, store, or distribute any of the following:
- Content that is illegal under Canadian federal or provincial law
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits minors

Email and SMTP abuse
SMTP ports (25, 465, 587) are blocked by default on all MapleDeploy servers. If you need outbound email, contact us to request access. The following email restrictions apply:
- Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam) is strictly prohibited
- Bulk email (more than 1,000 messages per hour) is prohibited without prior written approval
- Use of purchased, harvested, or scraped email lists is prohibited
- Sending email that results in MapleDeploy infrastructure being listed on spam blocklists (SpamHaus, SpamCop, or similar) is grounds for immediate termination
- Falsifying email headers, disguising message origins, or altering sender information is prohibited
Abuse of unblocked SMTP access results in immediate termination with no refund.
Network abuse
You may not use MapleDeploy services to:
- Launch or participate in denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks
- Operate open mail relays, open proxies, or open recursive DNS resolvers
- Conduct port scanning, packet flooding, or network reconnaissance against systems you do not own
- Create artificial traffic or bandwidth consumption designed to disrupt services
- Engage in IP address spoofing or other packet manipulation
Servers that are repeatedly targeted by inbound DDoS attacks may be null-routed or suspended to protect platform stability.
Security violations
The following activities are prohibited:
- Unauthorized access or attempted access to accounts, hosts, or networks you do not own or have permission to access
- Breaching or attempting to breach authentication or security measures
- Intercepting or monitoring data or traffic without authorization
- Distributing malware, viruses, or other malicious code
- Vulnerability scanning or penetration testing against systems you do not own
Restricted activities
The following activities are not permitted on MapleDeploy infrastructure:
- Operating Tor exit nodes
- Operating public or anonymous proxy servers
- Operating open VPN servers accessible to the general public
- Running merchandise purchasing bots or other automated tools that violate vendor terms of service
- Illegal file sharing or hosting of unauthorized copyrighted material
- Export control violations or activities restricted under Canadian trade sanctions
Cryptocurrency mining
Cryptocurrency mining of any kind is prohibited on MapleDeploy servers. Mining operations consume excessive CPU and I/O resources, degrade performance for other workloads on your server, and are not a supported use case. This includes proof-of-work mining, proof-of-stake validation, and similar computational activities.
Resource usage
Your server resources are dedicated to you, but sustained abuse of compute, disk I/O, or bandwidth that impacts platform stability may result in throttling or suspension. Bandwidth overages beyond your plan allowance are billed at the rate specified in your plan terms.
Enforcement
MapleDeploy reserves the right to take the following actions in response to AUP violations:
- Issue a warning and request remediation
- Suspend or restrict access to your server
- Terminate your account without prior notice for severe violations
- Cooperate with law enforcement where required by Canadian law
Accounts terminated for AUP violations are not eligible for refunds.
Your use of MapleDeploy services must also comply with our upstream infrastructure provider's terms of service. Violations of upstream provider policies that result in action against your server are your responsibility.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active customers via email. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
